Human Rights Initiatives

Basic Philosophy of Human Rights

We, Mikuni Corporation and the Mikuni Group companies, regard human rights initiatives as one of our management foundations, respect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international norms and guidelines set by the United Nations, the OECD, and the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), and strive to create a workplace and company where everyone associated with our company can work with dignity.

Human Rights Policy

We are committed to the following human rights policies with respect to all of our customers, group company officers and employees, suppliers, local communities, and all other stakeholders,

  1. Discrimination
We work to create a system and workplace free of discrimination, regardless of race, color, age, gender, nationality, disability, health status, pregnancy, language, sexual orientation, religion, political opinion, or any other reason.
  2. Harassment
We do not engage in any harassment that offends individual dignity. We also do not tolerate any form of harassment, whether physical or mental, that is based on language or behavior that the other party finds offensive.
  3. Forced Labor
We do not engage in forced labor of any kind. Similarly, we do not tolerate or accept forced labor or modern-day slavery of any of our stakeholders, including our suppliers.
  4. Child labor
We do not allow children under the minimum working age stipulated by the laws of each country to work. We also do not allow young workers to engage in hazardous and harmful labor prohibited by law.
  5. Safety
We prioritize safety above all else and aim to ensure that everyone can enjoy and be assured of the basic health and safety philosophy and the occupational health and safety policy that Mikuni has set forth.
  6. Local Community
We comply with the demands and expectations of the local community through respect for relevant human rights, taking into consideration the impact of our business activities on land rights, access to water, the health and benefits of local residents, and the rights of indigenous peoples.
  7. Gender Equality
We have been endeavoring to create workplaces where women have equal opportunities and are free from discrimination and violence. We also support the empowerment of women and ensure that they have full and equal access to economic, social, and political opportunities.
